Jewish Children Worldwide is a volunteer-powered organization in its founding year. Every role listed here is unpaid — built on the commitment of people who believe every Jewish child deserves support, opportunity, and community.

Whether you have a few flexible hours a month or a professional background you want to put to meaningful use, there is a place for you here.

All positions are entirely volunteer. Jewish Children Worldwide does not currently have the funding to compensate staff or contractors. We are grateful for every hour contributed to our mission.

Where We Are Now

Information, Referral & Community Support. We maintain a resource directory, help parents navigate services, refer families to specialists, host workshops and webinars, and provide advocacy and educational guidance.

At this level, we operate entirely through volunteers — professionals who contribute occasionally, serve as advisors, or help families find what they need.

2

Where We Are Headed

Family Support & Consultation. As we grow, we will engage professionals to provide parent coaching, educational advocacy, school navigation assistance, resource coordination, and family support consultations.

Professionals who join us now as advisors and volunteers help shape this next stage — and will be first in line as paid roles become available.

1Level 1 — Open Now

Community Volunteers

These roles are open right now. No professional license required — just time, commitment, and a desire to help Jewish children and families.

Resource Directory Volunteer

Help us build and maintain our directory of community resources — schools, camps, synagogues, social services, and educational programs — so families can find what they need quickly.

Flexible / remote

Family Navigator

Guide families through available services and programs. Help parents understand their options, make referrals, and connect them with the right community resources.

Flexible / remote or local

Workshop & Webinar Facilitator

Lead or co-facilitate educational workshops and webinars for parents and families — covering topics like school advocacy, inclusion, navigating services, and community resources.

2–4 hrs/month

Community Ambassador

Represent Jewish Children Worldwide in your synagogue, school, or community. Help us reach the families who need us most and build awareness of our programs.

Flexible

Educational Advocate

Support families in understanding their children's educational rights, navigating IEP and 504 processes, and communicating effectively with schools and educators.

Flexible / case by case

Peer Support Group Leader

Facilitate peer support groups for parents and caregivers — creating a space for shared experience, mutual support, and practical guidance within the community.

2–3 hrs/month
2Level 2 — Professional Advisors

Licensed Professionals & Advisors

We are actively seeking licensed professionals who can serve as volunteer advisors and occasional consultants. These roles require professional credentials and are the foundation of our Level 2 capacity.

All roles at this level are volunteer. Professionals who join now help shape the organization and will be considered first as compensated roles become available.

Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)

High Impact

Help shape our family support programs, resource navigation systems, inclusion initiatives, and parent education workshops — on a part-time consulting or advisory board basis. LICSWs understand both the child and the family context, and bring experience with autism spectrum conditions, ADHD, learning differences, family systems, and community resources. We are not seeking clinical service delivery — we are seeking professionals who can help us build better programs and occasionally consult with families.

Part-time consultant or board advisor

Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or MSW

Support resource coordination, family guidance, and educational advocacy. Help families navigate school systems, community services, and available support programs.

Advisory / occasional

Special Education Advocate

High Impact

Help families navigate IEPs, 504 Plans, school accommodations, and placement decisions. Educate parents on their rights under IDEA and Section 504, and help them communicate effectively with schools. This role is enormously valuable to families who have never navigated these systems before and do not know where to start.

Advisory / case by case

Developmental Pediatrician or Psychologist

Serve in an advisory capacity — not as staff or clinical provider. We are seeking professionals who can join our advisory board, speak occasionally at parent workshops and webinars, or consult on program design. This adds credibility to our work, helps ensure our resources reflect best practices, and signals to families that our guidance is grounded in professional expertise.

Advisory board / occasional speaker / program consultant

A Note on Professional Roles

LICSW: One of the most versatile professionals a nonprofit like ours can engage. They understand both the child and the family context — and can help shape programs, review resources, and consult with families without requiring the organization to become a healthcare provider.

Special Education Advocate: Families navigating IEPs, 504 Plans, and school accommodations for the first time are often overwhelmed. A knowledgeable advocate who can explain parent rights and help families communicate with schools is one of the most concrete forms of help we can offer.

Developmental Pediatrician or Psychologist: We are not seeking clinical staff. We are seeking professionals willing to serve on our advisory board, speak at a parent workshop, or consult on program design. Their involvement adds credibility and ensures our guidance reflects professional best practices.

Also Needed

General Community Volunteers

No specific background required — just a willingness to show up for families in your community.

Family Support Volunteer

Provide practical help to families in need — grocery runs, school pickups, friendly check-in calls, or helping a family connect with local resources.

Flexible

Local Community Liaison

Be our eyes and ears in your local Jewish community. Help identify families who could benefit from our programs and connect them with our team.
